National Love a Tree Day

National Love a Tree Day

Whilst many of us are likely to overlook the purpose of individual trees surrounding us, each year on May 16th don't forget to celebrate the natural genius of the humble tree.

From a social and psychological boost, to environmental wonder, there is no doubt that there are many benefits to having trees around us. Lets take some time to really think about some of the amazing benefits that these beautiful canopies provide...

Most would agree that going for a run or a walk with the dog would not be the same without parks and woods laden with trees. Found to improve our well-being, we are likely to see others while out amongst the trees, helping to contribute to our lives socially. Research has suggested that trees have a part to play in the reduction of stress levels as we get back to nature.

We are all too familiar with the terms 'climate change' and 'global warming'...we need to reduce carbon emissions and attempt to repair the damage done. Trees provide natural absorption of carbon, they even hang on to it for us for many years!

So you see...we need the trees! At Lil Packaging, we want to be 'green'. We want to put 'sustainable business' into practise. Most of all, we want to ensure that you can do both as well, which is why we have ensured that we always try and manufacture FSC® certified packaging.

FSC® stands for ‘Forest Stewardship Council®’. They are an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. FSC® certifies forests all over the world to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards.

Products made with wood and paper from FSC® forests are marked with our ‘tick tree’ logo. When you see this logo, you can be confident that buying it won’t mean harming the world’s forests. (You’ll see this on our stock ranges of accredited FSC® packaging.)

To find out more about the FSC®and our commitment to sustainable packaging, visit our website https://us.lilpackaging.com/pages/fsc-certified-postal-packaging.

On National Love a Tree Day – perhaps you could plant your own tree, or during a walk you could spot different species of tree! If you are lucky enough to have your own garden space, take time, on this day, to really appreciate the green area around you.
